Destiny: MovieTalk

Sa-weet! I've found a good film to use for MovieTalk in my Cierra la puerta unit! Check it out! It provides lots of repetitions of the structures because of the repetitive nature of the plot. It's also great for ordinal numbers and house and home vocab. I've written out the basic Spanish and English scripts below. El hombre bosteza. Se pone lentes. Se levanta. Está en su dormitorio. En su dormitorio, hay muchos relojes. Camina hacia un armario. Abre la puerta del armario. Saca un suéter del armario. El suéter es de color verde. Camina hacia una puerta. Abre la puerta y entra. Cierra la puerta. La puerta del armario se abre. El hombre abre la puerta del baño y sale. Cierra la puerta del baño. El tostado salta del tostador, y el hombre pone el tostado en la caja de metal. Pone la caja de metal en su maletín. Agarra el maletín y sale de la cocina. Se pone una chaqueta. Agarra un paraguas. Está en la entrada de su casa. Hay muchos relojes. Abre la puerta de su casa. Pausa. Mira el reloj. Son las 7:59. Sale por la puerta. Cierra la puerta. La casa es pequeña. Es una casa blanca. El techo es de color rojo. Tiene una cerca blanca. Hay muchos árboles. Hay una farola. Hay una calle y una acera. El hombre baja los tres escalones. Saca un reloj de su bolsillo. Mira el reloj. Está sorprendido. El reloj no funciona. Está roto. Escucha el reloj. Oye algo. Mira. Hay un autobús. El autobús choca con el hombre. El hombre se despierta. Está aliviado. Son las 7:51. Se levanta. Camina hacia el armario. Agarra la puerta del armario y...otro hombre abre la puerta del baño y sale. El segundo hombre lleva pijama azul y el primer hombre lleva un suéter verde. El primer hombre cierra la puerta del baño y cierra la puerta del armario. El segundo hombre salta. Mira el primer hombre. El primer hombre sale del dormitorio. El segundo hombre lo mira. Lo sigue. El segundo hombre ve que el primer hombre está en la escalera arreglando el reloj. Se esconde. El primer hombre baja la escalera. El segundo hombre lo sigue. Baja la escalera también. El primer hombre lleva un suéter verde y sale del dormitorio. El segundo hombre lleva pijama azul y lo mira. El tercer hombre mira al primer hombre y al segundo hombre mientras bajan la escalera. Está determinado. El tercer hombre intenta agarrar al primer hombre, pero no puede. Intenta agarrarlo otra vez. No puede. Mira por la ventana. Ve el autobús. Corre. El primer hombre cierra la puerta. El segundo hombre se cae. El tercer hombre ve un gnomo. Éste es el conductor del autobús. Conduce el autobús. De repente, el tercer hombre tira el gnomo, y el gnomo rompe la ventana del autobús. El conductor está distraído y pierde el control del autobús. El tercer hombre está contento. El autobús se choca con el primer hombre. El hombre se despierta. Son las 7:58. El hombre no ve a nadie en el dormitorio. Enfrente de la casa, el primer hombre cierra la puerta. El segundo hombre se cae. El tercer hombre ve el autobús y agarra el gnomo. El cuarto hombre está en el dormitorio. Se levanta y corre. Se cae. Sale por la puerta del perro. Intenta salir pero no puede. Ve el autobús. Ve el choque. El hombre se despierta. Tiene miedo. Mira los relojes. Son las 7:59. Agarra las orejas. Agarra el despertador. Tira el despertador hacia uno de los relojes que está en la pared. El reloj se rompe. El hombre camina hacia el reloj. Toca el vidrio que vuela por el aire. Ve al hombre en la escalera. Baja la escalera. Abre la puerta de la casa. Ve al primer hombre mirando su reloj. Ve al segundo hombre en el césped. Ve al tercer hombre tirando el gnomo. Ve una luz brillante. Está aliviado. Mira el reloj del primer hombre. Cierra el reloj. Entonces, el primer hombre busca algo. No hay nadie. El autobús pasa enfrente de la casa. No hay un choque. English Script: These are gears. There are many gears. This is an alarm clock. It's 7:59. The alarm goes off. A hand grabs the alarm clock. It's a man's hand. The man is wearing pajamas. The pajamas are blue. The man looks at the clock. The man yawns. The man puts on glasses. He gets up. He's in his bedroom. In his bedroom, there are many clocks. He walks toward an armoire. He opens the door of the armoire. He takes out a green sweater. He walks toward a door. He opens teh door and enters. He closes the door. The door of the armoire opens. The man opens the door of the bathroom and come sout. He closes the bathroom door. He closes the armoire door. Now he's on a staircase. He goes down the stairs. There are many clocks on the wall. There is one window. One clock is broken. The man pauses. He looks at the broken clock. He grabs the pendulum and fixes it. He goes down the rest of the staircase. He turns on the coffee pot. He puts down the toast in the toaster. He grabs a box of food. He puts the food in the dog dish. This is the kitchen. In the kitchen there are two tables and a chair. There are many clocks. There are cabinets. There are many objects on the counter. The man pours coffee in a thermos. He grabs a metal box. The toast pops out of the toaster, and the man puts the toast in the metal box. He puts the metal box in his briefcase. He grabs the briefcase and leaves the kitchen. He puts on a jacket. He grabs an umbrella. He is in the entry of his house. There are many clocks. He opens the door of his house. He pauses. He looks at the clock. It's 7:59. He goes out the door. He closes the door. This is his house. It is small. It's a white house. The roof is red. It has a white fence. There are many trees. There is a lamp post. There is a  and a sidewalk. The man goes down the three steps. He takes out a watch from his pocket. He looks at the watch. He is surprised. The clock doesn't work. It's broken. He hears something. He looks. There is a bus. The bus hits him. The man wakes up. He is relieved. It's 7:51. He gets up. He walks toward the closet. He grabs the door of the closet and...another man opens the door of the bathroom and comes out. The second man is wearing blue pajamas and the first man is wearing a green sweater. The first man closes the bathroom door and closes the closet door. The second man jumps. He looks at the first man. The first man leaves the bedroom. The second man watches him. He follows him. The second man sees that the first man is on the staircase fixing the clock. He hides. The first man goes down the stairs. The second man follows him. He goes down the stairs too. The first man pours coffee in a thermos. The second man watches him. The first man puts the toast in the briefcase and leaves the kitchen. The second man watches him. The first man doesn't see the second man. The first man opens the door of the house. The second man stands in front of the first man, but the first man doesn't see the second man. The first man looks at the clock. It's 7:59. The first man walks through the second man and closes the door of the house. The second man falls. Now he's in the grass. The first man walks in front of the second man. The second man is afraid. He sees the bus. He sees the crash. The man wakes up. He is afraid. It's 7:53. He sees two men in the bedroom. The first man wears a green sweater and leaves the bedroom. The second man is wearing blue pajamas and watches him. The third man looks at the first man and the second man while they go down the stairs. He is determined. The third man tries to grab the first man, but he can't. He tries to grab him again. He can't. He looks out the window. He sees the bus. He runs. The first man closes the door. The second man falls. The third man sees a gnome. This is the bus driver. He's driving the bus. Suddenly, the third man throws the gnome, and the gnome breaks the window of the bus. The bus driver is distracted and loses control of the bus. The third man is happy. The bus crashes with the first man. A man wakes up. It's 7:58. The man doesn't see anyone in his room. In front of the house, the first man opens the door. The second man falls. The third man sees the bus and grabs the gnome. The fourth man is in the bedroom. He gets up and runs. He falls. He falls through the dog door. He tries to get out but he can't. He sees the bus. He sees the crash. A man wakes up. He is scared. He looks at the clocks. It's 7:59. He grabs his ears. He grabs the alarm clock. He throws the alarm clock toward one of the clocks on the wall. The clock breaks. The man walks toward the clock. He touches the glass that's flying through the air. He sees the man on the stairs. He goes down the stairs. He opens the door of the house. He sees the first man looking at his watch. He sees the second man in the grass. He sees the first man throwing the gnome. He sees a bright light. He is relieved. He looks at the first man's watch. He closes the watch. The first man looks around for something. There is no one. The bus passes in front of the house. There is no crash.
